Comunitas' Coffee workshops are designed for Northerners who are interested in learning about coffee production here in Oaxaca.
Our workshop introduces the participants to the community of Huayapam, just north of Oaxaca de Juarez. There we will meet a family who work in conjunction with a women's coffee cooperative in the sierra. There will be discussion about the complications of coffee production, harvest and processing. Participants will learn how to roast their own green coffee at home, while at the same time learning what makes a good coffee. A coffee tasting session will help our guests to develop their palette for fine coffee.
Included is a trip into the Sierra to see a coffee farm and learn about coffee growing and harvesting.
Included are three nights in Huayapam, coffee instruction, guided tour, green coffee, roasted coffee, and the comal for roasting.
